Well, the second half of your comment doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but I get your point. Shankar felt that to take drugs while listening to his music tainted the purpose or essence of what he did.

hey man its not disrespectful to smoke weed and listen to shankar. If it was then everytime he played at a festival (monterey pop,woodstock etc) half of the people their were stoned or trippin balls man.

i love this ... why is it a problem? i dont like drugs.. i love folk music from over the world.. and indian classic music is like one of that.. i like my own swedish folk music too :-) why cant we all be friends?
