just read your "project page", was looking for tips on constructing a "heatpipe", but as far as I could see, your design isnt really a heatpipe, but a hollow copper tubing.. unless i miss something
I guess you could mod it to a real heatpipe thingie, which should also bring a much better heat conductance.
tho judging from the copper pennies, i dunno how far you are willing to go :P

I live in the middle of nowhere. Its really difficult to find a block of copper around here. Plus, how much fun would it be to see a piece if zinc (the 5% part) shoot across the room after using 2 1,500 degree blow torches?

Maybe if you had read the article, or at least did a bit of research before posting, you might have realised the following: The creator (me) used pennies between 1962-1982, which is 95% copper, and 5% zinc. You lose. :)

pennies are zinc. zinc has ftl thermal properties.you suck
